Questions?
Thank you for attending the April 2nd speedy staff meeting. Below are supporting documents that were reviewed during the meeting. We have an amazing staff here at AW and we want to keep improving each and every day. Every team member plays a critical role in making our organization successful. As discussed, we are in the process of adding additional staff and are looking at ways in which to reduce burnout. With that being said, we currently have 22 employees rendering billable hours of which only 9 are considered full time by working 32 hours or more per week on average. Part time employees should be making every effort to schedule personal appointments so as not to conflict with their daily schedule. Although we didn’t have a chance to touch on the subject of client diversity (high intensity -vs- lower intensity) during the short meeting, it is important that we review team assignments to ensure that all therapists have a diverse case load. All therapists should have the capacity to handle clients with high intensity behaviors in addition to lower intensity clients. One of the ways to address burnout would be by expanding the teams for high intensity clients so that their sessions can be spread between a larger number of therapists. While we are sensitive to the needs and requests of staff, we need to keep from overburdening a small group of staff members with a high number of high intensity client appointments. Also, in the spirit of mental health and burnout, we would like to be in a position in the near future where we can have a floating therapist that can assist on any given day. I’m old school so weekends are what I refer to as mental health days. I believe that a person achieves what the mind believes. Never underestimate the value of having a positive mental attitude. As always, my door is always open to discuss any questions or concerns. Thanks… Jim G
